Did you know you can get help with these seven common conditions without seeing your GP?

Pharmacies can offer advice about a range of illnesses, medications and treatments for certain illnesses that don't need a prescription.

Most pharmacies can also offer prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment. This is called Pharmacy First. It's always worth a visit to your pharmacy first!

2025 Autumn Covid and Flu programme – starts 1st October 2025

Patients eligible for Covid &/or Flu vaccination include:

 

  • Adults aged 75 years and over
  • Residents in a care home for older adults
  • Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed ( as defined in Green Book, chapter 14a)

 

Additional Patients eligible for Flu vaccination only:

  • Adults aged 65 years and over ( as at 31/03/2026)
  • Those aged 18 years to under 65 in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Green Book, Influenza chapter 19)
  • Those in long stay residential care homes
  • Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly of     disable person
  • Household contacts of an immunosuppressed individual
  • Frontline health and social workers without access to an employer led occupational health     scheme
